Watch Us Grow
There was considerable activity at Good Nuff throughout 2020. Our biggest project was to rebuild the portico and surrounding siding over the front door, which had deteriorated from water damage. We think you'll agree - our new portico looks terrific!
Rich Snape's partner Jen Betts has been leading a multi-year development of our Good Nuff gardens. She really has a wonderful eye for plantings, and many others have helped with the labor that inevitably comes with gardening. Today's gardens are simply delightful.
Much of the garden work was done in the spring, but this fall we moved some plantings from the garden to new beds we created using lake stones on either side of the front door. Our front door may never have looked so inviting as it does today.
Upon finishing the final painting around the new portico, we kept right on going and painted the porch so that it matches the color of the rest of the cottage. The fresh siding paint looked so nice we went ahead and painted the porch window trim too.
Several hands held brushes or ladders, but our in-house paint expert Sue Leenhouts, ably assisted by husband Jeff, took advantage of wonderful September weather to ensure the job was completed before the first snow.
Speaking of the porch windows, Al and Donna Traister spent many hours of their summer vacation trimming out the inside of the porch windows. The porch is an even more delightful place to relax spring, summer, or fall than it was before.
Check back again in a few months for more project pictures.
We will be replacing most of the windows in spring of 2021. We also are planning a project for the week of Labor Day to rebuild our waterfront cribs protecting the hill and the decking above to account for the flooding we have endured two of the last three years.
